A structural joint monitoring and safety assessment, both static and seismic, was carried out for the existing structures of the “Tor Vergata” Shopping Center in Rome (RM), owned by the Klepierre Group (MI).
The current building was constructed in two successive phases: the first phase in ordinary reinforced concrete and the expansion phase in precast reinforced concrete. The first phase, dating back to 1992, included the construction of a two-story section for offices and parking. In 2002, the building was expanded and elevated with a precast concrete structure, changing its intended use to a shopping center.
Between July 2022 and July 2023, monitoring of the existing structural joints’ width was conducted. Subsequently, a safety assessment, both static and seismic, was performed, taking into account the different construction phases that shaped the history of the entire commercial complex.
