The Heroes’ Bridge is a reinforced concrete arch bridge with a deck located above the arch. It consists of two adjacent arches with a total span of 65 meters and a rise of approximately 13 meters. In the portion of the bridge between the abutments and the springing point of the arch, the substructure is made up of reinforced concrete frame piers. The total length of the deck is approximately 105 meters.
The deck is composed of four main longitudinal beams and transverse beams in conventional reinforced concrete, spaced at intervals of 4.60 meters. The reinforced concrete slab is 20 cm thick.
Following an initial assessment of static and seismic safety levels, support was provided for the development of a technical-economic feasibility study that identified the necessary interventions on the existing structures to achieve compliance.
The detailed design of these interventions is currently under development. The evaluation of stress and deformation states was carried out using a finite element model applied for linear dynamic analysis.
